Southern Manufacturing Receives FDOT Approval For ITS Field Cabinets
Orlando, Florida May 24, 2010. Southern is pleased to announce that our wired Field
Cabinets for ITS have been approved by the Florida Department of Transportation for
inclusion on the ITS Approved Product List. The certificate numbers are:
78561702411011 - 336S
78561712411011 - 334
We are proud to have met the rigorous standard set by FDOT. This approval includes
wiring packages for DMS, CCTV, MVDS, TTS, and HAR applications. The approval
includes optional sunshields and generator transfer switches. These approved enclosures
serve as a base line standard configuration that can be customized to meet the specific
requirements of a project. While typically a 336S enclosure is used for CCTV and a 334
for DMS, either can be wired for any ITS application using approved components and
dependent on space.

The approval covers both base mounted and pole mounted versions. We have also
obtained a UL listing for these enclosures should that be a requirement.
Submittal packages are on file for the standard products which will help streamline the
approval and ordering process. Call to request a copy of the assembly drawing or to
request pricing. As always, Southern is willing and able to modify these baseline
enclosures to meet the specifics of a project whether that means extra depth, adding an air
conditioner, installing UPS, or providing painted finishes.
These approvals are in addition to the existing approval of bare 332, 334, 336, 336S, and
type I to VI NEMA style enclosures.
