Southern Manufacturing Announces Two New Product Lines
Southern is pleased to announce the expansion of its existing line of LED
traffic signs with two new product extensions. Both of these new
products have been developed using the Tetra® PowerStrip LED lighting system from GE
Lumination. The first is a line of backlit regulatory and warning signs illuminated by 12
volt DC LEDs. The second is a line of larger double sided 24 volt LED illuminated street
name signs with viewable areas of 30" or more.

Southern Manufacturing Receives FDOT Approval For Its Field Cabinets
Southern Manufacturing is pleased to announce that our wired Field
Cabinets for ITS have been approved by the Florida Department of Transportation for
inclusion on the ITS Approved Product List. We are proud to have met the rigorous standard set by FDOT. This approval includes
wiring packages for DMS, CCTV, MVDS, TTS, and HAR applications. The approval
includes optional sunshields and generator transfer switches.

Southern Manufacturing introduces the new EDGE SMART Illuminated Street Name Sign
Like all of Southern’s signs the Edge Smart has been
designed to be easy to maintain in the field with only a screwdriver.
The new sign is only 1.75” thick and is available in widths of 4, 6 and 8 feet. The standard
exposed viewing area is 15”. Other sizes are available upon request. This sign is available
as a single face sign and can be mounted using either standard rigid mounting hardware or
standard free swinging hardware.

Southern Manufacturing Provides Custom Enclosures for Mesa Arizona
The City of Mesa Arizona was looking for a budget stretching UPS enclosure. Marty
Escarcega, ITS Operations Supervisor, wanted a very specific enclosure. The cabinet had to conform to the mounting bolt pattern of a standard 336 base mount enclosure with an option
to mount to the back of another enclosure. It had to be fitted with an easily accessible,
secure, watertight external power connection.
